The PhD student Marija Vuletić spent her mobility in the laboratory of the Department of Applied Geosciences and Geophysics, University of Leoben-Montanuniversität, working on her PhD thesis. Under the supervision of Prof. Hans-Jürgen Gawlick, she learned how to prepare thin sections and had training consisting of basic preparation and determination of important ammonites and radiolarian species.
During her stay, Marija participated in the lecture given by Prof. Nevenka Đerić: “Radiolarians as tracers of oceanic environments (their morphology, problems of classification, biostratigraphy, paleogeography) and their important role in the history of the Earth’s biosphere”. Marija also participated to the field course: “Siliceous sedimentary rocks and radiolarian sampling”.
As Marija highlighted, her important benefit from her stay in Leoben was that she had the opportunity to work side by side with Prof. Hans-Jürgen Gawlick on the field course of siliceous sedimentary rocks and learn new views on interpreting geology.
