The network aims at improving the quality of teaching and training in fundamental and applied geosciences within the geologically unique Alpine-Carpathian-Balkan-Dinaridic realm. The network’s main goals are: a) to diversify teaching topics and methods,b) to improve learning and teaching standards, especially within the frame of Joint Supervision programs, c) to enhance geo-interdisciplinarity and multidisciplinarity and therewith to further develop geosciences in the region, and, d) (taking altogether from a to c) to address societal priorities, such as environmental (air, water and soil pollution), water and mineral resources (drinking water quality, critical and strategic raw material), geo-hazards (landslides, floods), preservation of cultural heritage, etc. This makes the EURO Geo-Sci network a perfect arena for multidisciplinary cooperation in education and research in this region, capable for fully responding to current and future societal needs in a best possible way.
