Our dear professor Rejhana Dervišević (Faculty of Mining, Geology and Civil Engineering at the University of Tuzla), together with colleagues from the Federal Geological Institute, the Republic Institute for Geological Research, the Association of Geologists in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Geological, Geophysical, Climatological, and Meteorological Service of Austria, organized a ceremonial academy commemorating 100 years since the death of Austrian geologist Friedrich Katzer, under the auspices of the Austrian Cultural Forum Sarajevo and small contribution of EURO Geo-Sci. The event was held at the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where Katzer worked as the curator of the geological, mineralogical and paleontological collection. Through his scientific work, Katzer made a lasting contribution to the development of geology and geological research not only in Bosnia and Herzegovina but also in the region. EURO Geo-Sci still relies on the knowledge that Katzer left us and which we use in educational and scientific activities.
