Incoming activity to LEO: PhD student Milica Mrdak from Faculty of Mining and Geology, Belgrade University (Serbia)

I was four months for student exchange at the Montanuniversitaet in Leoben, Department Applied Geosciences and Geophysics, chair of Energy Geosciences. During this period I participated to lectures of Prof. Dr. Hans-Juergen Gawlick and guest professors: Dr. V. Karadi from Budapest/Hungary, Dr. E. Machaniec from Krakow/Poland and Dr. G. Ples from Cluj-Napoca/Romania. In total, all these lectures and courses were very good, and increased my knowledge significantly, and are important for my PhD-topic and very useful for my future. In addition, I processed the last samples from my PhD study area in the laboratories of the institute in Leoben (conodont samples, radiolarian samples, thin sections) with support of the staff of the institute. Discussions with the members of the institute (Prof. Gawlick, Dr. Wegerer) helped significantly ito prepare the results of my studies. In the institute of Geology (Prof. Melcher) I could use the Digital Microscope to photograph my conodonts and thin sections with high-resolution magnification. Together with Dr. Wegerer I processed the last samples for clay mineralogy.
