Assoc. Prof. Paul Tibuleac, performed a CEEPUS mobility at the Faculty of Science of the University of Zagreb (Croatia) between April 8th-18th, 2024. During his stay, he lectured on two topics concerning paleontology: “Paleontological species concept. Systematics and Nomenclature in Paleontology” and “Miocene large mammals of the Eastern Carpathians Foreland (Romania).” The lectures were followed by practical work on some Melanopsis specimens from Romania and several teeth of Miocene proboscideans and rhinocerotids curated by the host institution. Both lectures were open to the public and were well-attended by undergraduate, graduate, and PhD students, as well as professors from the Department of Geology.
Prof. Tibuleac also exchanged didactical and research issues with Croatian colleagues in the department, visited the Paleontological Collection of the Department, and discussed some fossil specimens from the didactical collection.
