I am a fourth year PhD student at the Faculty of Mining and Geology, University of Belgrade. The main subject of my PhD project are recent and fossil continental carbonates. These carbonates in Serbia in general have not ever been the subject of geological research. In this regard, my stay in Cracow was extremely important, as I had the opportunity to work on my sample collection with Professor Dr. Wojciech Wr\u00f3blewski, who is an expert for continental carbonates research. During my one-month stay in Cracow, I was engaged in field- and laboratory work and had the opportunity to get acquainted with the method of testing continental carbonates in Europe. Professor W. Wr\u00f3blewski introduced me into the importance of stable and radiogenic isotopes in the study of continental carbonates and their application to the reconstruction of climatic conditions during the Quaternary. And just to mention one more detail: Prof. Wr\u00f3blewski visited my faculty in the frame of CEEPUS in 2018 and gave a course with theoretical and practical (microscopy) parts entitled: &#8220;Facies of freshwater carbonates&#8221;.
